As a one of Doha’s premier DJs, Kinky D’s ever-growing reputation and continuing success has seen her become a solid contender upon the global music scene. Kinky D has been involved in the scene since her start back in 1994. Musically, her energy is infectious and her audiences from around the globe can’t get enough of her well known musical style ranging from RnB, Soul, Hip-Hop, Disco and House, Afro Beats, UK/US Garage, Old Skool Club, and Party Classics. With musical roots in London, she’s consistently able to keep the crowds addicted to her cheerful personality and solid ability to command the DJ booth.

In London, Kinky D hosted her own radio show ‘Xcess With Kinky D’ on BBC Radio 1Xtra and was featured on several London FM stations such as Urban Fresh, Rhythm FM, and Unknown FM. Fans can currently find her on www.mixcloud.com/kinkyd and www.kinkyd.co.uk.

Since that time, Kinky D has traveled the world and worked alongside many of the top names in the music industry, to include Kelis, Scissor Sisters, 50 Cent, Black Coffee Mark Ronson, Jocelyn Brown, Todd Terry, and the MOBO Award winners Steve Sutherland and Manny Norte. She has performed alongside the Motown Legends: The Supremes and The Temptations. She also played at the opening of Plan B’s debut film ‘Ill Manors’, headlining at the Royal Opera House, at the Cannes Film Festival, and in Doha at Reggae Sun Splash with Maxi Priest.

To truly appreciate Kinky D’s sound you must understand her pedigree in the global club scene.  She has performed at events like Fashion TV Party and has appeared at the Ministry Of Sound, Fabric, China White and The End. Her global sound has extended to performances as far reaching as Mexico, The Dominican Republic, Thailand, Australia, Russia, South Korea, much of Europe and The U.A.E.

She has booked gigs for many high profile and prestigious corporate events over the years to include appearances at events sponsored by Moet & Chandon, Bertu, Claridges, Harvey Nichols, and the MTV Block Party. For nine consecutive years she DJ’ed, at the Cannes Film Festival, for four consecutive years was the resident DJ and Music Director for the Abu Dhabi Film Festival, and throughout her career maintained residencies at several popular nightclubs in London to include five years at Fabric and The End.

Kinky D has become one of the top DJs in Doha, yet has always remained grounded as she continues to perfect her craft. Music was her first love since childhood, and from the moment she purchased her first turntables and mixer, she has never held back her talent to move the crowd.  While, never a fan of EDM (Electronic Dance Music) which seems to be played everywhere lately, she continues to seek out gigs that allow her to be true to her roots, sharing her true love for party music. Her raving fans respond by consistently packing her events appreciating her funky/soulful style of love and great music.
